Stretch of Rhyl High Street shut amid concerns over ‘unsafe structure’

A section of Rhyl High Street has been closed due to an unsafe structure discovered following an inspection.

Denbighshire County Council (DCC) chiefs have apologised and diversions have been put in place for motorists.

The road is still open to pedestrians, with access to essential traffic, such as delivery vans.

A DCC spokesman said: “It has been necessary to close the High Street, Rhyl to vehicles due to an unsafe structure (Nos.123-125) following an inspection by structural engineers.

“Vehicular traffic is being directed along Russell Road and back to Brighton Road to the traffic lights.

“Access to the High Street will still be available for essential traffic (deliveries etc) and will remain open to pedestrians but they are asked to take care whilst in the area.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
